The Therapeutic Forest CIC is a Social Enterprise with non profit status. We are passionate about harnessing the therapeutic benefits of forests for every individual, including those with complex needs.
We use profits from our professional courses to deliver free projects and vocational training to individuals who face additional challenges. Find out more about our projects below! We also support the Forest School Community to deliver Inclusive sessions, through our training courses and Approved Practitioner Network.
The Therapeutic Forest deliver a wide range of free projects, from Woodcraft for Wellbeing sessions for adults with mild to moderate mental health needs or learning disabilities to Green Dementia sessions for older adults with dementia.
We provide integrated training into our sessions with participants and volunteers able to access Certifications from the exam board AQA in a range of topics, from planting a tree to Volunteering for a Non Profit project.
We provide training on inclusive practice in the outdoors and our courses include Therapeutic Skills for Outdoor Leaders and Adult Mental Health and Wellbeing, Green Dementia Care and supporting young people with PMLD in the Outdoors. Our training is developed with Clinical Psychologists and a multidisciplinary therapy team, informed by research and supported with a range of practical activities and strategies.
We also hold a monthly support programme for Newly Qualified Forest School Leaders.
